Overview
Railquip’s bogie testing solutions provide comprehensive verification and adjustment capabilities, optimizing travel comfort, minimizing wear, and ensuring safety through precise wheel load distribution and bogie geometry testing.
An accurate test and adjustment of wheel loads and bogie geometry is essential for optimizing travel comfort and minimizing wear and operating costs of rail and rolling stock. Precise testing is also imperative for avoiding derailing accidents.
Two key factors must be considered: the lateral force Y becomes increased especially in curves or under strong side winds, making it vital for the wheel load Q to be correctly adjusted to withstand these forces and prevent derailment. Our bogie test stands are designed for the final check and quality control of new, overhauled, and repaired bogies.
Load cylinders simulate different vehicle weights and forces for fully automatic testing of wheel loads, axle distances and parallelism, wheel concentricity and diameter, deflection, and other critical parameters. This ensures high stability for accurate geometry measuring.
All test data is logged, permanently traceable, and can be transferred to higher-ranking systems.
