OVERVIEW
The Truck Drop Table (TDT) is used to remove trucks from rolling stock vehicles in a safe and economical manner. The TDT is installed in a pit working within three tracks. The rail bridges are installed at both outer tracks (track 1+3) supported by concrete and connected to the existing workshop rails at each side. Track 2 is used as a supply track for the exchange of trucks. The rail bridges are mechanically locked with a locking system. Locking is controlled by an active limit switch, one at each locking device. The control is interfaced with the Master Control Cabinet (MCC) and can be interlocked with the traffic control of the workshop (by others).
Locking and unlocking of rail bridges is electrically actuated. After the truck has been placed on the rail bridges the platform of the TDT will be raised until contact is made with the flanges of the wheels. A further lift of max. +1.97” will release the rail bridges. The rail bridges will be electrically unlocked and slide sideward electrically motor-driven at either side. The platform with the disassembled truck can be lowered after the train body has been supported by the car body supporters which are movable in order to reach the support pads of the train body. The platform with the truck will be lowered to a fully down position and moves sidewards on rails installed at the bottom of the pit to track 2. Here the TDT with the truck will be lifted to the T.O.R. level so that the truck can be rolled out. The replaced truck will be rolled on the TDT to be moved to the first track. During the operation process, safety features have to ensure that no train movement is on both tracks. The operation status of the TDT can be interlocked into the traffic control of the workshop (by others). Potential free interface contact at the MCC of the Truck Drop Table will be provided by Railquip.
