Railquip’s Equipment For OCTA, Case Study

Overview

The OCTA project in Santa Ana, California, presented a unique challenge.:
Meeting California’s strict seismic regulations.

Unlike previous projects, this one required additional engineering and design work to ensure compliance. Our focus was on delivering equipment that met these requirements while being on schedule.

Our Approach

Process: Since the project followed predefined specifications, customization was limited. However, we had to find solutions for specific equipment needs. One key challenge was sourcing a custom mobile truck lift table that fit the project’s design constraints. To solve this, we worked with a manufacturer in Ohio to ensure compliance without sacrificing efficiency and safety.

Timeline: The project is set for completion by the end of 2025. Our team is on track to complete installation, commissioning, and training by fall. Railquip’s equipment for OCTA deliveries started in February and will continue through March to keep everything moving as planned.

Results: We are currently in the delivery phase, with installations progressing as scheduled. Over the next few months, we expect to complete installations and secure the necessary approvals for full operation.

– Solution

For this project, we are supplying nearly 40 pieces of equipment, including:

  • Two jib cranes
  • A material lift
  • A hot water pressure washer

Each component was selected to improve efficiency while meeting California’s safety and seismic regulations.

The Results

With deliveries underway, most equipment is expected on-site between February and March. Our team is aiming to have the majority of components fully set up and approved in the coming months. We anticipate having the majority of the Railquip’s equipment installed and approved within the next few months.
